I am the wife to a wonderful man, the mother to two very rambunctious boys and two lovable dogs. I attended art school at Syracuse University, where I had to unfortunately drop out. I was going for my BFA with a concentration in illustration. I ended up finishing up my BFA at the Univ of Mary Hardin Baylor with a concentration in studio arts. I am currently a stay at home mom and a board member of my local chapter of MOMS Club.
I currently call the suburbs of Houston home. I have also lived in Colorado and New York (state). I love to travel, but don't do nearly enough of it. I love to collect postcards from not only my travels, but other people's travels as well. The top of my bucket list is to visit all 50 states. I have 34 knocked out already.
I have a horrible memory and for that reason I am very drawn to photography. I carry my camera with me EVERYWHERE! I actually pick my purses to fit my camera. I carry around a Fuji Finepix. I have also now added a Pentax KX to my camera roster. I carry around the Pentax more often now, but when I need something smaller I still bring my Fuji out and about. I love my cameras and I snap pictures of anything and everything that I don't want to forget. Sometimes it's pictures of my kids, a milestone I want to remember, just something I find to be beautiful or something I want to draw or paint and need the reference shots from.
I love art and I don't have one single favorite medium to work in. My favorites are photography, watercolor, woodworking. I am not afraid to try anything and you will see me trying more and more new things. My favorite phrase is, "I could do that!" I don't like to spend money on anything I think I could do myself. It's a blessing and a curse!
Feel free to ask me any questions, I am not shy about giving an answer. I am really not shy at all and am very honest about EVERYTHING! I don't like to sugar coat anything, unless it is a baked good. I also love to cook and bake and have been doing more of it due to my quest to lose weight and get healthy.
I am so happy to be able to blog. I have found that I LOVE IT! It not only helps me keep in contact with friends and meet new creative people, but also helps me stay accountable for the things I want to do. I feel that writing things down gives me a sense of accomplishment and a record that I can reflect back on. This is way better than the old school journal or brag book. I also love to be able to share myself with the world and this is a great way to do that.
